Visualising numbers is hard. Making data visualisation fun is even harder. This work demonstrates how I turned boring numbers into illustrations that are fun to look and and easy to understand.

This is a piece of editorial explaining Hong Kong by statistics by theloophk.com. The hidden agenda that I gave myself was to explain the numbers with as least words included in the illustrations as possible. This prevents audience from being distracted by the words and slowing down the decoding process. In order to make these illustrations fun, I added in some well-understood metaphors, such as combining the face of the former Financial Secretary of Hong Kong SAR, John Tsang, and the signature pose of monopoly to present the great fiscal surplus that Hong Kong Government.
